What does SIL stand for?
SIL stands for Supported Independent Living. It funds daily and overnight help for people with substantial ongoing support needs. Short drop-in visits aren't the same funding arrangement.
SIL versus SDA: what is the difference?
SIL is funding for support. SDA, or Specialist Disability Accommodation, is specially designed housing for people with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. They have different eligibility requirements. Having one doesn't automatically mean you're funded for the other.
How SIL funding is decided
The NDIA decides what to fund based on your circumstances and evidence of your support needs. Your NDIS contact or support coordinator can help with that process. We can explain the support Vana Care may be able to provide.
Living arrangements that work with SIL
